Working as ecologists, students use the scientific process to determine the health and well-being of a local watershed. Teams plan and conduct fieldwork, taking samples from the local environment and testing them for specific aspects of watershed health. Students analyze the data, looking for patterns and trends across groups in order to assess the overall health of the ecosystem then create and present educational visual data displays–interactive maps and infographics–with their findings and recommendations.
