Students learn about branches and levels of government (federal, state, and local), voting rights, and voting systems to inform their design of a structure and electoral process for a new student government. Teams collaborate on research and create student government proposals and presentations, and individuals write persuasive/argumentative letters addressed to school leaders to show how the student government proposed would be effective and equitable.
