Students learn about the different geometric shapes in the world around them and keep an artist’s sketchbook to take note of the shapes they see and ideas about how to incorporate them into their art. Students create art pieces, write artist’s statements, and welcome visitors to the grand opening of their Shapes Gallery where they hold a “meet the artist” talk, share their pieces, and answer audience questions.
