Students will be placed in groups of similar political beliefs based on online assessments and create their own political parties. They will create a party name, logo, platform, and a 30-second campaign commercial. This project is part of a national competition. Students will first compete in their own schools in a "primary" with the winners competing against the winners of other schools. Students will learn about the major political parties by studying the parties respective heroes: FDR (Democrats) and Ronald Reagan (Republican.) Students will become passionate about political issues and the process by participating in it.
