Our school sees our surrounding community as part of our learning environment. In Southern Arizona, we are lucky enough to have an incredible, on-line platform that helps to connect community volunteers with schools (www.communityshare.us). CommunityShare acts as a sort of matchmaker, connecting its database of community resources with teacher requests. For us, connecting with our larger world is a win-win and, over the years, we have gotten pretty good at it.
